The latest distribution from Ubuntu, Ubuntu 8.10 is getting released tomorrow, October 30th. Ubuntu nomenclature has a code number representing the year and month of the release and also a code name. The code name has an adjective and an animals name with the same starting letter as the adjective. The new release’s code name is “Intrepid Ibex”.

What’s new in this Ubuntu??

There is more and more support this time. Mainly there is support for 3G wireless modems. There are many security features this time round. There is an option to set encrypted and password protected private directory. You can create a guest account which cannot access the data. Now you can lend your laptop to others for browsing without any risk of losing your private data. There are also many other features.
